 Iran has officially appointed Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new Supreme Leader following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei. The decision was made by the powerful Assembly of Experts, the clerical body responsible for selecting Iran’s highest authority. 

The appointment marks a historic moment for the Iran, as Mojtaba becomes the third Supreme Leader since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. His rise to power comes during one of the most volatile periods in the region, with escalating military tensions involving the United States and Israel.
